Planning a wedding is no joke. From choosing a location, to settling on a meal, to ensuring your racist uncle doesn’t get seated next to your cousin’s Black wife, there are a lot of moving parts.

Still, no matter how much planning one does, things can occasionally slip up during a wedding. When they do, you’d hope that your guests would react well. Guests at a wedding in Agra, India, did not.

According to IndiaToday, guests were enjoying a wedding when someone noticed that the event was running out of rasgullas (“ball-shaped dumplings of chhena dough, cooked in light sugar syrup,” sayeth Wikipedia). Rather than react by, I don’t know, getting another dessert or just accepting the L, this person decided to throw some punches.

Soon, more people joined in, each one wanting to get their hands on one of the few remaining rasgullas. By the end of the fight, six people had sustained injuries so bad that they needed to be hospitalized, though IndiaToday says that their condition is stable and that “those who are in hospital are out of danger.” Presumably, the hospital has plenty of rasgullas.

Strangely enough, this isn’t even the first time that someone in India has been injured following a wedding dessert brawl. IndiaToday notes that “in October 2022, a man was killed in a fight over a shortage of sweets at a wedding in Etmadpur.”

Let me just see what the sweets were… Holy Jesus, rasgullas again. See ya, boys — I’m going to go see if I can get my hands on this violence-inspiring sweet. I’ve heard it’s to die for.
